Printable Mittens Craft
During the colder months when it can be harder to spend as much time outdoors I love to have a back up plan of a few simple crafts and activities that I can do at home with my kids and of course the less prep I need to do for them the better!
Of course if you’re a teacher or if you work in a library, youth group or preschool you’ll also know the benefits of having activities which are quick to get ready, mittens aren’t too hard to draw but it’s still much easier to be able to print some rather than drawing enough for a group of 30 kids.
I love this cute mittens craft and I know that lots of people have memories of their own mittens tied together with string or yarn through the back of their coats so they wouldn’t get lost and it reminds me of Jan Brett’s book The Mitten too.
You can make this craft as a simple cut and paste craft or add some ribbon like I have to connect the mittens together and of course you can choose which decorations you’d like to add to your mittens.
Craft Supplies
- Mittens craft PDF

- Colored markers, coloring pencils or crayons
- Optional – yarn or string
Cut and Paste Mittens Craft
Start by printing out the PDF file, normal white paper is absolutely fine for this craft.
Grab your coloring materials and color in your mittens as well as the cuffs and the decorations that you’d like to use. You don’t need to color in the decorations that you won’t be using.
Following the dotted lines use scissors to cut out the parts that you’ve colored in.
Add some glue on to the back of one of your mittens and then if you would like to have them joined by a piece of yarn or string then now is the time to place the end onto the glue and then stick the two sides together, then do the same with the other mittens.
Glue the cuffs and decorations on to your mittens to finish your craft.
