Paper Pieced Coffin Quilt Block – Quilting

Paper Pieced Coffin Quilt Block – Quilting
The talented Jeni Baker shared a delightful free pattern for a Paper Pieced Coffin Quilt Block on her blog, In Color Order. This Halloween-themed block was born out of Jeni’s quest to find the perfect pattern for Amanda’s Buffy Quilt. Failing to find what she envisioned, Jeni took matters into her own hands and created the pattern herself, resulting in a unique and spooky design.Initially crafted for a quilt, Jeni later adapted the block into a smaller size, perfect for a pillow to adorn her living room chair. Each coffin block, measuring 6″ square, serves as a canvas for showcasing eerie fabrics, making it an ideal project for Halloween decorations.Jeni’s attention to detail shines through in her quilting process, where she meticulously quilted around each coffin before echoing the pattern in the background. The result is a stunning pillow featuring a Halloween print inside each coffin, complemented by different blenders for each background. With meticulous craftsmanship, Jeni used a captivating bottle print from Spooktacular by Maude Asbury for the pillow’s back, adding diagonal quilting lines for visual interest. The pillow is elegantly finished with an invisible zipper along the bottom edge, ensuring its reversibility and a sleek appearance.Crafters are encouraged to share their project photos using the #jenibaker hashtag on social media or by joining the In Color Order Flickr Group, spreading creativity and inspiration within the quilting community.
