I always find that it is easier for me to make a card when I pick a theme.  Think about the person you are making the card for and what they enjoy and then go with that theme. • Sports: If your dad loves sports, you could create a Father’s Day card with a sports theme. You could use images of his favorite team, or create a card in the shape of a basketball or football. Don’t forget the sentiment for inside your sports themed card. I like to find a writing style font and let my Cricut pens do the work for writing up my sentiments. Fathers Day Card Ideas – Grilling/Food/Beer Theme

• Grilling/Food/Beer: If your dad loves to grill, your Fathers Day Card ideas could include a grilling theme. You could use images of barbecue tools, a grill, or his favorite food to cook on the grill. Or maybe a card shaped like a cold beer

• Cars: If your dad loves cars, you could create a Father’s Day card with a car theme. You could use images of his favorite car or create a card in the shape of a car. • Music: If your dad loves music, you could create a Father’s Day card with a music theme. You could use images of his favorite band, a guitar, or create a card that looks like a concert ticket. When I was trying to come up with Fathers Day card ideas, I saw some woodgrain paper at 12×12 Cardstock and thought it would be perfect for a guitar shaped card.

• Nature: If your dad loves nature, you could create a Father’s Day card with a nature theme. You could use images of trees, mountains, or animals to create a card that celebrates the beauty of the natural world.

Camping always makes me think of S’mores around a fire. One of my crafty friends has a whole collection of S’more themed projects you can create HERE. You could use the campfire image, the s’mores or even the bugs in the jar as a cute image for a card!

• Books/Movies/Characters: If your dad loves to read, you could create a Father’s Day card with a book theme. You could use images of his favorite book or create a card that looks like a library card.

• Superhero: If your dad is your superhero, you could create a Father’s Day card with a superhero theme. You could use images of his favorite superhero or create a card that looks like a comic book cover.

Need some suggestions for what to write on the inside of your Superhero Father’s Day card? Here are some cute sayings I found online.

• “Dad, you may not have superpowers, but you’re still my hero.”

When I am really feeling stuck on what to do for a card, I focus on just the favorite color of the card recipient. For example, using stars in a variety of bright shapes and pairing that with a great sentiment can make a wonderful handmade card idea.
