Time to grab some darling ornaments and earring hooks create these easy DIY Christimas earrings on the cheap!

‘Tis the season for twinkling lights, cozy sweaters, and of course, festive accessories. And what better way to add some holiday flair than with DIY Christmas earrings? I was wandering the Christmas and found the CUTEST mini ornaments! Reindeers, bows, lanterns, candy canes, presents etc! I didn’t have a mini chrsitmas tree so I grabbed a few to add to the top of gifts. But as they sat on my work desk, I thought, these would make the CUTEST EARRINGS!

So that’s what I did!

This is such a fun and easy activity! And you can make SO MANY EARRINGS for so cheap! I recommend gathering up your friends and making a day of it since the ornament packs usually come in a set of 6 and earrings are sold in bulk numbers! They average to less than $1 a pair!

Supplies needed to DIY your own Christmas earrings

I walked the jewelry aisle at Hobby Lobby and found some easy earring hooks that I could just slide the ornaments on! But I did find some really similar at Amazon that I linked above! I used them all since they are all different sizes and some ornaments needed longer hooks and some needed shorter! Plus some you need gold and some you need silver!

Keep in mind how many earrings you are making! Like the angel earrings come in a pack of 3! If you want to make them all into earrings, you will need even numbers! And the ornament earrings only have one of each color. So to get the pair of red earrings, I had to buy 2 packages!

How to turn these Christmas ornaments into Christmas earrings

This is one of the easiest DIY ever! Since the mini ornaments already have little spots on top to hook on the Christmas tree, you can easily just hook on an earring instead!

Open up the ornaments and snip off any pieces of string or ribbon meant to hang up the ornament.

Step 2: Make room on the earring hook

You can use little jewelry pliers, but I just used my hands, and separated the earring hook so you have room to slide the ornament on. (The arrow in the picture shows where I separated the earring.) Some of the kidney shaped ones didn’t have to be adjusted and ornament fit just great!

Step 3: Add ornament onto an earring hook.

Once the earring hook has room, slide the ornament on!

Step 4: Close the hook.

Since we don’t want the ornament sliding off the earring hook, just take the part of the earring hook you spread wider and pinch it back close!

That’s it! I told you- such an easy DIY!

We have been wearing them ALL December long!
