As an affiliate of Etsy, I am being compensated for this post but I love all of these Halloween craft kits and would share them anyway.
I always have big ambitions when it comes to Halloween. It’s my daughter’s favorite holiday, and I always want to do it up big, with lots of decorations, a countdown calendar and lots of fun activities.
Of course she’s a teenager now and much less into directed crafts and activities than she used to be. But I still love Halloween craft kits and making projects we can use as decor throughout spooky season. Here are a few of my favorites.
Stitch Your Own Spookyville Mansion
This is not so much a Halloween craft kit as it is a tutorial with printables. The Spookyville Mansion tutorial from Betz White includes photo and video tutorials, printable PDF files with the pattern templates and a printable stitch dictionary for all the techniques you’ll need.
This amazing house is made out of felt and has adorable embroidered embellishments. It’s rated for confident beginners or intermediate crafters who have a little experience with embroidery.
Spooky Friendship Bracelets
This Halloween craft kit would be great for a mom’s craft night or for getting the tweens and teens into a Halloween craft. Letter Happy has a variety of friendship bracelet making kits, including this Halloween themed one.
It includes letters to spell a few words (you can specify the words, whether you want spooky words or the letters for the names of people who will be using the kit), skull beads, different colors of filler beads and stretch cord enough to make at least five bracelets, depending on the size.
In all you’ll get 400-450 filler beads of different colors, 50-75 focal beads, stretch cord and instructions on how to tie a surgeon’s knot. It comes in a cute organizer, too!
Paper Building Halloween Advent Calendar
This one might be a little late to use as an advent calendar this year since it ships from the UK, but I love these little paper buildings that make a spooky village that doubles as a 13-day Halloween countdown calendar.
You can buy this one from UKTwoforJoy and use the spooky town this year and make it a calendar next year if you like. You’d start the countdown on Oct. 19 and each building has a number on its door so you know which day to open it (none of this controversy on do you start with the big number or the small number).
Black Bat Mosaic Kit
Using Halloween craft kits is a great way to try a new skill or technique. I haven’t done a lot of mosaic projects before, but this little bat from Artcolibrimosaic looks like just the thing for a beginner to try.
It includes everything you need: the wooden bat mold, pieces of glass to make your mosaic, glue, grout, fixing, brush, gloves, sponge and fixing plate. You can display it on a little easel or use the included ribbon to hang it.
Pumpkin Ghost Embroidery Kit
This pumpkin embroidery kit from Pick and Stitch Co is another good one for a beginner trying embroidery for the first time. This one is great for newbies because it includes a water soluble pattern so it’s easy to know where to stitch.
The kit also includes your choice of colorways for the pumpkins (there’s this pink version or one with purple), two pieces of fabric, an embroidery hoop, backing felt and a needle, plus a 15-page guide to the stitches if you need it. You can even buy a kit with scissors if you want.
Pumpkin Lantern Kit for 2
Play with air dry clay and make jack o’lantern shaped lanterns with this fun kit from Jasmine Pottery Studio. This is one of the Halloween craft kits that would be great to do with kids if they’re into it, and it makes a project you can use year after year.
This kit includes two bags of air-dry clay, a pot of clay glue, tools and paint you can use to decorate your pumpkin once it is dry. There’s also a link to a video you can watch if you need more help making your project.
Mini Halloween Cross Stitch Kit
This kit from Knit Knot Crafts includes everything you need to make four little Halloween cross stitch ornaments. There’s a spider, skull, cauldron and pumpkin, and you can make them and hang them together or give them as little Halloween gifts.
The kit includes four pieces of fabric to stitch on, all the embroidery floss you need, two needles, four little hoops, and Halloween themed felt and ribbon for finishing the projects. There are also patterns and instructions of course.
Halloween Hat Knitting Kit
And because I’m first and foremost a knitter in my heart, I couldn’t share Halloween craft kits without throwing in one for a knitting project. This one isn’t for beginners because it uses a lot of colorwork, but if you want everything you need for a colorful Halloween hat, this kit from Rosie Posie Knit Co is a great one.
The hat pattern includes instructions for multiple sizes from babies to adult and the kit has enough yarn to make the largest hat (which is adult large). You’ll get a digital copy of the pattern as well as a gift box filled with enough Malabrigo Rasta in all the colors you need to complete the hat, plus a pompom and button (you use the button to attach and remove the pompom so you can wash the hat), a yarn needle and a stitch marker. All you’ll need to supply is knitting needles.
The gift box also includes some hand salve and a little notebook, making it a great gift for a knitting friend any time of year.
